Eduard Abashia, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology at the Dnipro Institute of PJSC "IAPM", a legal expert, psychologist at the Amur-Nizhnodniprovskyi District Department of the State Institution "Probation Center" branch in Dnipropetrovsk region, and a member of the International Association of Psychologists and Sexual Education Consultants, Eduard Abashia informs about the following. Every year, on the first Monday of October, many countries celebrate International Doctor's Day, which is considered a day of solidarity and active actions of doctors worldwide. After all, the main goal of any doctor, regardless of nationality, is to improve and preserve the health of patients.
In 2024, the holiday falls on October 7. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the international medical humanitarian organization "Doctors Without Borders" (Fr. Médecins sans frontières, MSF) initiated this holiday. It is this independent, non-governmental organization "Doctors Without Borders" that fully implements the tasks of today's Day. Its employees do not discriminate based on people's national or religious affiliations but help everyone in need, providing assistance to victims of natural disasters, various epidemics, social and armed conflicts, etc.
Every year, about a thousand doctors from this organization help people in different countries (including hot spots), providing medical assistance to everyone in emergency situations, without any discrimination or distinction. The organization's volunteers also engage in preventive and educational work aimed at combating AIDS and drug addiction.
We congratulate all doctors on their professional holiday, wishing them health, professional achievements, success, and new creative accomplishments!
