The event was organized to discuss the key challenges facing legal science and practice under martial law, as well as to analyze the legal aspects concerning the protection of citizens' rights and the functioning of the state during this challenging time.
The event was opened by the Director of the Dnipropetrovsk Institute of IAPM, Candidate of Legal Sciences, Associate Professor Oleksandr Khoroshun, who delivered a welcome speech. He emphasized the importance of holding such discussions to strengthen Ukraine's legal system and adapt legal practice to modern conditions.
Experts in the field of law were present at the roundtable, including Candidates of Legal Sciences Marina Polishchuk, Liliya Tymchenko, Tetyana Alfyorova, and Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Oleksandr Sachko.
During the event, a series of presentations addressed the most pressing legal issues. Anna-Bozhena Melnychuk discussed changes in legislation regarding alimony payments during martial law. Kyrylo Zuikov delved into the legal status of prisoners of war, emphasizing international and national legal norms. Vladyslav Zvenyhorodskyi devoted his presentation to digital rights and personal data protection, particularly stressing the importance of digital security. Danylo Kravchenko briefed the participants on changes in inheritance legislation during martial law, while Nelya Hutova explored practical issues that arise when an heir is abroad. Hryhoriy Harkusha concluded the series of presentations with a discussion on human rights and freedoms during martial law, highlighting the relevant legal aspects of this issue.
The event concluded with warm wishes to all participants. The organizers emphasized the importance of unity within the legal community and wished success in further professional activities. It was underscored that, despite the difficult circumstances, legal professionals must remain true to their work, contribute to the protection of citizens' rights and freedoms, and actively work on the development of the country's legal system. Participants expressed hope for future meetings to exchange experiences and collaborate on solving legal issues.
