About the Scholarship from Alser

"Alser" company, which is one of the leading manufacturers of curtains, blinds, and roller shutters, has launched a social project Scholarship to support Ukrainian students.

The initiative aims to provide financial assistance for tuition fees and encourage young people to research relevant topics related to the impact of lighting on sleep quality, home automation systems, and other important aspects of modern life.

Alser company strives to support the new generation of specialists by providing opportunities for professional development and expanding knowledge in key areas that matter for comfortable and healthy living.

Competition Terms

Competition Stages

Competition start and article submission opening: October 1, 2024

Competition end and article submission closing: December 26, 2024

Jury evaluation of submitted articles: from December 27, 2024 to January 9, 2025

Jury results announcement and winner declaration: January 10, 2025

Who can participate?

The program is open to those who have a desire to develop, learn, and contribute to their professional field, and are:

• citizens of Ukraine;
• students of institutions with III-IV accreditation levels, years 1-5 (including masters);
• contract/state-funded full-time students.

Article Topics

To participate in the competition, you need to write an article on one of the suggested topics:

1. Sleep hygiene: optimal lighting for healthy sleep.
2. The role of absolute darkness for healthy rest: how can blackout curtains improve sleep quality?
3. The impact of natural and artificial lighting on circadian rhythms and sleep.
4. Sleep and hormones: how bedroom light can disrupt melatonin production and how to fix it?
5. How to create ideal conditions for children's sleep: the importance of darkness and daily routine for child development.
6. Curtains and blinds as a smart home element: automation and integration with smart home systems.
7. Smart curtains: practical necessity or a solution for the lazy?
8. Smart curtains and roller blinds: integration of automatic systems in modern "smart homes".
9. The impact of natural lighting on interior through different types of window treatments. How to avoid fading of floors, furniture, and other interior items?
10. How do interior colors (including curtains) affect a person's internal state?

Article Requirements

To participate in the social project, you need to submit work that meets the following requirements:

• article length — minimum 5,000 characters with detailed topic coverage;
• written in Ukrainian;
• must only use topics proposed by the organizer;
• it is additionally recommended to include diagrams, tables, infographics, research, photos, and drawings;
• only original and unique works are accepted (all works will be checked for plagiarism);
• material should be relevant, expert, and include practical examples or recommendations for their use;
• it is forbidden to use artificial intelligence programs for writing articles (works will be checked using special services to detect AI-generated texts);
• The article must be formatted as a Microsoft Word document in .doc format and submitted in the form below.

Prize Fund

The prize fund includes monetary rewards:

• 1st place — 30,000 UAH
• 2nd place — 15,000 UAH
• 3rd place — 5,000 UAH

How will winners be determined?

The winner will be chosen based on jury conclusions who will objectively determine the best work among participants. The competition jury consists of company managers and employees who are professionals in their field. They will evaluate works based on originality, expertise, and practical value of the presented materials.

After evaluating all works, on January 10, 2025, each competition participant will receive a response with competition results to their email, and company representatives will contact winners by phone provided during registration.
