Eduard Abashia, a lecturer at the Dnipro Institute of PJSC "IAPM", lawyer, psychologist at the Amur-Dnipro District Department of the State Institution "Probation Center" branch in Dnipropetrovsk region, informs about the following. Christmas is the day of celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, whom Christians consider the "Son of God".
The exact date of Jesus' birth is not established in any secular text. Due to the lack of historical evidence, the date was determined based on the analysis of historical events mentioned in the Gospels of Luke and Matthew, as well as the ministry of Jesus Christ.
In 2024, Roman Catholics, Greek Catholics, Protestants, and some Orthodox Christians in Ukraine will celebrate Christmas on December 25 according to the Gregorian calendar, while other Orthodox Christians will celebrate this holiday on January 7 according to the Julian calendar.
We wish everyone a happy and peaceful New Year and pleasant holiday celebrations!
