April 15 is celebrated worldwide as the International Day of Laboratory Diagnostics Specialists. The International Federation of Biomedical Laboratory Science established the Day of Biomedical Laboratory Technicians in 1996 at the World Congress in Oslo, Norway, to promote and recognize the key role of biomedical laboratory personnel in diagnostic and preventive healthcare systems.
Laboratory diagnostics specialists use clinical research to determine the causes of disease, which ensures better treatment and recovery, predicts the course of illness, monitors the effectiveness of the treatment process, detects disease at the preclinical stage, and more.
