On August 29, 2014, 254 Ukrainian soldiers died in the Ilovaisk cauldron - it was the bloodiest day of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The battalions "Dnipro-1", "Myrotvorets" (Peacekeeper), "Svityaz", "Kherson", "Ivano-Frankivsk", the National Guard battalion "Donbas" and forces of sector "B" were encircled.

Our boys fought to the last bullet, shot at tanks with assault rifles, continued the battle even with severe wounds. They knew what they were fighting for - for our land, for our right to live free.

Their courage and self-sacrifice became a symbol of the indomitable Ukrainian spirit. Thanks to such heroes, Ukraine stands unshakeable today.
