Eduard Abashiia, a lecturer at the Department of Psychology of the Dnipro Institute of PrJSC HEI «IAPM» and a clinical psychologist at the Mental Health Center of the Municipal Non-Profit Enterprise «City Clinical Hospital No. 6» of the Dnipro City Council, completed a two-day training on August 10, 2026, on the topic: «Epidemiology of Suicidal Behavior and Effective Approaches to Prevention» and on August 12, 2026, on the topic: «Standard of Medical Care: Approaches to Early Detection, Comprehensive Assessment, and Provision of Care to Individuals with Suicidal Behavior».
The educational events were conducted by mental health specialists from the WHO Country Office in Ukraine and the Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine for medical specialties and healthcare professionals.
After successfully passing the testing on the platform of the State Institution «Public Health Center of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine», event participants had the opportunity to receive a certificate with CPD (Continuous Professional Development) points. Continuous professional development of mental health professionals represents an ongoing process of learning and enhancing professional competencies aimed at providing high-quality care in this field.
Continuous professional development and certification of mental health specialists are carried out in accordance with the procedure approved by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, taking into account the provisions of the Law of Ukraine «On the Mental Health Care System in Ukraine».
