Some of our people are not in the classrooms right now. Some of our students take their exams between shifts. Some of our graduates, who not long ago were nervous before defending their theses, are now responsible for other people's lives.
And here, we carry on. We give lectures, check coursework, argue about the timetable, have coffee during breaks. It's an ordinary life, and we have it only because someone is protecting it.
Defenders are not just figures on posters. They are real people with names, habits and favourite songs. One of them used to be late for the first class. Another always sat by the window. Their mothers, children and friends are waiting for them at home, and so are the classrooms, where there will always be a place for them.
Today we simply want to say: thank you. For every day, for every night, for the quiet in which we can study and work. And thank you to those waiting at home too, because waiting is sometimes no easier.
